RESPECT FOR ANIMALS, HUMAN AND NATURE

Since glerups was founded in 1993, respecting the world we live in, has always been a core part of our DNA. By caring for our resources and focusing on the best care practices for the next generation, glerups continues to strive new ways to: reduce, reuse and recycle the materials we use.

Every year on April 22nd, we mark Earth Day - a reminder of how important it is to take responsibility for our planet. For us, it's not just one day but a continuous effort. After all, what better way to honor our Earth than by ensuring respect for nature, human and animals in everything we do?

EMBRACE THE NATURAL FEELING AND COZINESS

With values rooted in quality craftsmanship and deep respect for nature, human and animals, our vision is to work in line with these values - from farm to foot. This means, we continuously work towards optimizing production and inventing the right technology to limit waste. For instance, our leather labels are made from leftover chrome-free leather pieces from our production, showcasing an elegant design upgrade while reducing waste.

Our insoles are another example of our Project Zero Waste philosophy, where we upcycle leftover wool from our production and incorporate coconut fibers to achieve our goal of reducing waste - caring for the nature.

At glerups, thoughtfulness and responsibility are an integral part of our work all year round and Earth Day is a welcome opportunity to share and strengthen our commitment to a more conscious and responsible future.

CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH PURPOSE AND CARE

At glerups, we are dedicated to continuously optimizing our production and investing in advanced technology to minimize waste as much as possible. And when we’re able to repurpose excess materials into beautiful and functional designs — beyond footwear — it’s not only a responsible choice, it also feels like the right thing to do.

Our new forest

The glerups headquarter is situated in the Nothern part of Denmark - in the country side with fields, trees and fresh are. We treasure the lovely surroundings of our headquarter, and find inspiration and energy in the fresh and natural environment that surrounds us. We planated 17,5 hectares of new trees. The area is protected forest and now a part of the 200 year old "protected forest" tradition in Denmark.

ONE OF OUR FARMERS

"We need to teach the next generation how lucky they are to farm the land, and set them up in a better space, than what we took it on as." Grant Barbara, Glenbourne Farming Ltd.
